Moving In or Out of the Central Business District

The Central Business District runs from Lawrence and 20th Streets south to Colfax Avenue, and from Broadway west to Speer Boulevard. It is the city’s skyscraper core, with most of its towers built from the 1960s through the 1980s, and the downtown business association has started calling it Upper Downtown. The 16th Street Mall runs through the middle, with the Colorado Convention Center and the Performing Arts Complex along its western edge.

Moving here means working with buildings as much as streets. Condo and apartment towers set elevator reservations and move hours, and most want a certificate of insurance before the truck arrives. Office towers often limit moves to set hours and route everything through a loading dock. Street parking is metered and scarce. Our office on Pennsylvania Street is less than a mile away, and we also move neighbors in Capitol Hill, Five Points, and Baker.
