Trusted Movers in Vibrant Baker

Moving In or Out of Baker

Baker runs from 6th Avenue south to Mississippi Avenue, and from Broadway west to the South Platte River. It was known as South Side or South Broadway until the 1970s, when it took its name from Baker Junior High. Most of it was built after South Side joined the city in 1883, and it holds one of the largest collections of middle-class Queen Anne homes anywhere in the city. The Baker Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985, and the Mayan Theatre, built in 1930, still anchors the Broadway strip.

That mix shapes moving day. The residential core between Broadway and Santa Fe Drive is mostly Victorians, bungalows, duplexes, and smaller apartment buildings, with narrow stairs and front steps. Broadway itself is lined with shops, bars, and offices, where parking is tight and weekends are busy. Our office on Pennsylvania Street is about two miles north, and we also move neighbors in Capitol Hill, Washington Park, and the Central Business District.
